NHS publishes People Plan for 2020/21
NHS England has set out what the 1.3 million people who work for the NHS can expect from their leaders and each other in ‘We are the NHS: People Plan 2020/21 – action for us all’. The Plan is designed to build on the creativity and commitment shown by NHS staff in their response to the Coronavirus pandemic, and focuses on how everyone must continue to support each other and foster a culture of inclusion and belonging, as well as wider actions to grow the workforce, train staff and work together differently to deliver patient care.
The pandemic highlighted to the whole country the staggering commitment and dedication of NHS staff, alongside clinicians coming out of retirement and students stopping their training to deliver support and provide the very best care for their patients. The People Plan sets out the ambitious target of building on this momentum, progressing the transformation process through the remainder of this year and beyond, and ensuring everyone works together to improve the experience of working in the NHS for everyone.
