SUAG receives Queens Award

Huge congratulations to our friends, the Spinal Unit Action Group (SUAG), based at the North West Regional Spinal Injuries Centre, Southport, who this year have enjoyed a very special double celebration.

2018 has seen the group celebrate their 45th birthday; 45 years of providing support to the past and present patients at the Centre.  This great achievement was recently recognised when the group was awarded the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service. The Queen’s Award is the highest award given in recognition of the achievements of a voluntary organisation.

The Award was presented to members of the group’s executive committee at a special ceremony at 6 Weld Road (the SUAG residential facility in Southport) and attended by the Lord-Lieutenant of Merseyside who presented the award on behalf of the Queen and spoke warmly of the group’s many achievements over the past 45 years.
