SIA’s Overseas Cycling Team gearing up for their next big adventure

There is just two weeks to go until the next instalment of SIA’s annual cycle ride, and the team are ready and raring to go!

Planned for 2020 (and postponed due to COVID restrictions), we’re delighted to be taking our biggest ever team abroad with us to Italy; with 39 cyclists and handcyclists taking on the challenge of 200 miles around the hills of Tuscany.

Over the course of three days, the team will cycle from Pisa to Florence, Florence to Siena, and Siena back to Pisa (where we’re sure they will be taking the obligatory photos under the leaning tower – bikes and all)!

As always, our biggest fully-accessible event is a fantastic way to raise both vital funds and awareness to support our work – and a great opportunity to get our SCI members, their friends and family, and many of our corporate supporters and fundraisers on board, and taking on a challenge that really makes a difference.

Two of our fantastic colleagues; Gary Dawson (Support Network Manager for the North), and Dave Eastham (Support Network Coordinator for the North West) will be leading the charge as representatives of SIA on the ride. They will be sharing more about their experiences and motivations for taking on the challenge soon, but in the meantime, visit Gary’s fundraising page to find out more about his story, and why he has decided to brave the trip.

We’d like to say a huge thank you to all the riders for taking part, and an especially big thank you for all their hard work and effort to date:

to our trusted partners who are joining us; CFG Law, Irwin Mitchell, Leigh Day, NewLaw and Slater & Gordon,

to our business members; Horwich Cohen Coghlan, Lime Solicitors and Levenes,

and to our keen supporters; No5 Chambers, and Perspective Financial Group.

We’ll be keeping you all updated over the coming weeks with some team profiles, fundraising success stories, and plenty of training photos and videos, so keep an eye out, and like, share, and retweet the teams content on our social media channels.

We hope you’ll all join us in wishing the team “buona fortuna” for another successful ride!
