Set the wheels in motion to support SIA this August

Join SIA on the 15 and 16 August for another epic virtual challenge!

On Saturday and Sunday (15-16 August) we would have seen another team of fantastic fundraisers taking on the RideLondon event to support SIA, but, sadly, like so much else, it has been cancelled.

However, this year we are instead getting behind ‘My RideLondon’, a wonderful virtual challenge ‘on wheels’ that replaces the iconic road cycling event.

You can choose any distance from 100 miles down to 1km, and can take part on bikes, roller skates, unicycles and of course, wheelchairs (anything on wheels that isn’t motorised).

It’s totally free to take part and, what’s more, it’ll be supported by the official RideLondon app which will be released the week of the event. Whatever distance, route and wheeled transport you choose, just know that you’ll be having lots of fun whilst supporting your favourite charity!

How to get involved:

  1. Visit https://myridelondon.co.uk/ to choose and register for your challenge
  2. Follow the link to set up a fundraising page on Virgin Money Giving, choosing Spinal Injuries Association as your charity
  3. Share your fundraising page with everyone you know, tag the Spinal Injuries Association on social media, and spread the word with the hashtag #MyPRL
  4. Complete your challenge and receive your thank you t-shirt.

SIA has redeployed its workforce and volunteers – in particular our specialist nursing, Advocacy and Support Network teams – so that every one of the 50,000 people living with SCI can continue to access the information, advocacy and support that they need, when they need it most.

We must keep delivering these vital sources of support, and that’s why we need you!

Please join us and take part in this great event, knowing that with every turn of the wheel you’re helping SIA to support everyone affected by spinal cord injury.
