Congratulations Carol!
Our specialist nurse lead for north regions Carol Adcock has won the ‘Above and Beyond’ award in the inaugural Neuro Rehab Times Awards.
Ten were shortlisted in total with the judges won over by Carol’s passion and support for our bowel campaign and her ground-breaking work introducing the Emergency Care Plan (ECP) with our clinical team.
NR Times said that Carol’s work in supporting people with spinal injuries and longstanding dedication to making change was deemed as truly life changing and genuinely ‘above and beyond.’
Natalie Mackenzie, Director of BIS who was one of the judges for the category said:
“Carol is a very worthy winner and her dedication to making change to patients’ lives is way beyond the scope of her role.”
Carol told us:
“I was so thrilled to be chosen out of so many other worthy winners for this award which is for everyone on the clinical team and for all the frontline office staff, who I couldn’t do my job without.”
SIA was also highly commended in the ‘Charity of the Year’ category up against nine others but was pipped at the post by the Child Brain Injury Trust. The judges said they were impressed by our scaling up of our support services along with such a robust strategy for the future.
