Statement on goverment's NHS England announcement

Statement from our director of programmes following the government’s announcement on NHS England:

The Prime Minister’s announcement last week that NHS England (NHSE) is to be abolished will no doubt raise many questions and concerns, particularly for those who rely on specialist services. We want to take this opportunity to thank NHS England staff for their dedication and hard work, including those supporting people with spinal cord injury.

The Government has confirmed that NHS care will remain free at the point of use and that frontline care will continue. However, we recognise there are still many details to be worked through, including what this may mean for specialist services such as spinal cord injury care. We want to reassure our community that we are actively engaging with MPs, ministers, and civil service officials to ensure the needs of people with spinal cord injury are fully understood and protected, not only throughout this period of transition but for the future.
