#SeriousSh1t - campaign update
We’ve been overwhelmed by the positive reaction to the launch of our major bowel care campaign This is #SeriousSh1t, the aim of which is to stop SCI patients suffering harmful neglect through being denied essential bowel care in some medical settings.
The campaign was formally launched at the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Spinal Cord Injury meeting in March, since when we’ve had numerous offers of help and support from people such as our partners and business members, MPs, healthcare professionals from inside and outside the NHS, SCI people, charity partners, NHS Trusts, care agencies – the campaign has clearly resonated with a wide range of people!
It was also great to be able to convene wider and more detailed discussions about the campaign, and consider ways in which we can drive it forward, at the APPG follow-up forums. Huge thanks to all those who were able to attend, and we look forward to developing some of the excellent ideas that were generated as the campaign evolves.
If you’d like to be involved in a future forum, and/or if you can support the campaign around the areas of data/evidence, personal or institutional connections, or just generally spreading the word and making the campaign more visible, we’d love to hear from you! Please email our campaigns manager, Dave Bracher, at [email protected] and thank you for your support for this transformational campaign.
