Spring is here and, wow, do we have a bumper issue of Forward magazine on offer! Packed full of articles on the subjects we know are important to you, we also have an extra 8-pages of fab info to mark our 50th year! Enjoy!

2024 sees us reach our 50th year and what an amazing 50 years it’s been. From small beginnings in Baroness Masham’s kitchen, we have become the UK’s expert guiding voice for people living with spinal cord injury.Hear from pioneers of SIA over  the years, read about SIA through the decades and check out our 50 ideas on how you can get involved with SIA in our 50th year.

Family is at the heart of this issue with our Forward Focus section dedicated to family matters – you can read our interview with social media couple George Dowell and Jessikah Lopez about their journey through IVF and the birth of their baby daughter; Shauna Kime’s story of parenting before and after SCI and get family counselling advice from our family therapist Barbara Babcock.

And another subject we know is close to your heart: work. In this issue we look at Evenbreak – a social enterprise which exists to close the disability employment gap. We also look at your work rights in the UK and what they mean for you.
