About this event

Our local community groups are a great way of connecting to other people with SCI, their friends and families and they offer regular opportunities to socialise.

The Oxford spinal cord injury community group meets on the second Monday every month from 12pm-2pm.

For more details contact Leana.

Meet your host – Leana

Hi. My names Leana, and I was injured in 1996 in a RTC and sustained a T9 complete spinal cord injury. I spent 10 days in the QE Norfolk and was then repatriated to Stoke Mandeville Spinal Unit where I underwent spinal fixation followed by 3 months of rehab. Speaking to people and voicing my concerns or worries was so important. I soon came to realise that I could lead a fulfilled happy life which was no different to anyone else – I was just doing it seated.”
